Natalie Toida
I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Washington (LH61056008) working with adult individuals who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, anger, multicultural concerns, racial identity, interpersonal relationships, and personal growth. I earned my Master of Arts in Psychology degree at Seattle University and completed an internship at a non-profit agency providing school-based mental health counseling in low income, racially diverse communities. I also have experience working at a domestic violence shelter, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and at a community non-profit agency that serves unhoused adults.
I approach therapy from the perspective that life experiences and what they mean to us influence how we navigate our struggles, our lives, our relationships, and the world. I am committed to practicing with compassion, acceptance, and non-judgment and aim to help clients shift from going through life in a habitual way to living in a more intentional way. I primarily utilize Internal Family Systems (IFS), alongside EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and mindfulness based techniques. My longtime Vipassana meditation practice also informs my work.
